In addition, the failure caused the truck to swerve when the Channel bracket (Part Number:505) failed to maintain the trailer attached to the vehicle. The contact stated there was no oncoming traffic therefore a collision was avoided. No injuries were sustained. A police report was filed. The trailer was deemed a total loss and was towed to a local tow lot where it remained. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The trailer did not have an odometer however, the contact was able to give an approximate failure mileage for the trailer from previous oil records.
