This action establishes Class D airspace at Boca Raton, FL. Air traffic controllers at Boca Raton Airport, FL, will be certificated weather observers by October 5, 2000. Therefore, the airport will meet criteria for Class D airspace on October 5, 2000. Class D surface area airspace is required when the control tower is open to accommodate current Standard Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs) and for Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations at the airport.
