Docket No. 2001-NM-48-AD
Abstract
This amendment supersedes an existing airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Boeing Model 737-600, -700, -800, and -700C series airplanes, that currently requires initial and repetitive inspections of the elevator tab assembly to detect any damage or discrepancy; and corrective actions, if necessary. This amendment clarifies the applicability and certain requirements of the AD. This amendment is prompted by requests for such clarification. The actions specified in this AD are intended to prevent excessive in-flight vibrations of the elevator tab, which could lead to loss of the elevator tab and reduced controllability of the airplane.
