Abstract

These special conditions are issued for the Dassault Aviation, Mystere Falcon 50 airplane modified by Garrett Aviation Services of Springfield, Illinois. This airplane will be equipped with a Collins EFIS-86C(14) Electronic Flight Instrument System that provides critical data to the flightcrew. The applicable regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for the position of these systems from the effects of high-intensity radiated fields. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
