Training and Qualification Requirements for Check Airmen and Flight Instructors: Correction and Editorial Changes

This amendment makes corrections and minor editorial changes to regulations published on June 17, 1996 (61 FR 30734). This amendment will not impose any additional restrictions on persons affected by these regulations. The final rule published on June 17, 1996, established separate requirements for check airmen who check only in flight simulators and flight instructors who instruct only in flight simulators. In addition this rule allows check airmen and flight instructors to obtain all of their flight training in simulators, as opposed to the current scheme in which initial and transition flight training must include an in-flight element.
