Abstract
These special conditions are issued for Boeing Model 737-600/- 700/-700C/-800/-900 and 900ER series airplanes. These airplanes, manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, will have novel or unusual design features associated with seats with inflatable lapbelts. Special Conditions No. 25-187-SC were issued on October 3, 2001, addressing this issue for the Boeing Model 777 series airplanes. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.
