Every committee registered with the Federal Election Commission: principal campaign committees, leadership PACs, super PACs (independent-expenditure-only), party committees (DNC, RNC, DCCC, etc.), joint fundraising committees, separate segregated funds, lobbyist/registrant committees. ~88,609 total committees across all election cycles. Each has FEC committee ID (C00XXXXXX), name, type, designation, organization type, party, state, treasurer, first/last filing dates, election cycles active. Source: api.open.fec.gov/v1/committees (FEC's official OpenFEC JSON API, DEMO_KEY works for moderate volume). Complements existing fec_murs (FEC Matters Under Review enforcement actions) — committees are the campaign finance entities; MURs are violations against them.
