Every USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service recall and Public Health Alert since the agency began posting them online — 823 Class I (probable serious harm — Listeria, E. coli, undeclared allergens), 187 Class II, 162 Public Health Alerts, 43 Class III. Each record has the title, recall date, classification, recall reason, establishment number (e.g. Est. 21406), states affected, distribution pattern, quantity recovered, and the FSIS press-release excerpt. Distinct from `fda_recalls` which covers food NOT under USDA jurisdiction — together they cover the entire US food supply chain.
