## Abstract

In response to industry concerns, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) proposes to amend its regulations to define the term freight forwarding facility. DEA further proposes to amend its regulations to exempt certain freight forwarder facilities from registration requirements. These amendments will establish regulatory guidelines under which distributors registered with DEA may utilize freight forwarding facilities when shipping controlled substances to another DEA registrant.
