## Abstract

In this final rule, the U.S. Department of Labor ("DOL" or "the Department") implements the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended ("Age Act" or "the Act"). The Age Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of age in programs or activities receiving Federal financial assistance. The Act also contains certain exceptions that permit, under limited circumstances, use of age distinctions, or factors other than age that might have a disproportionate effect on the basis of age. The Age Act applies to persons of all ages.
