## Abstract

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is revising its standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Shipyard Employment, 29 CFR part 1915, subpart I. The final rule updates, reorganizes, and simplifies shipyard employment PPE standards into a comprehensive framework that encompasses the shipbuilding, ship repair, and shipbreaking industries. Where appropriate, the final rule deletes existing specification-oriented provisions that limit employer innovation and incorporates performance-oriented language.
