Abstract
MSHA is revising its safety standards for roof and rock bolts at metal and nonmetal mines and underground coal mines by updating the reference to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard for roof and rock bolts and accessories. The new reference reflects technological advances in the design of roof and rock bolts and support materials. It will improve the level of protection provided by the standards currently in use.
