## Abstract

The Surface Transportation Board (Board) announces that henceforth it will apply its rule providing for a waiver of filing fees for state and local government entities only as originally intended. More specifically, the fee waiver rule will apply only to state and local government entities and only when they file on behalf of the general public. Any state or local government entity filing as an owner or proposed owner of a carrier or as a shipper, as well as quasi- governmental corporations and government-subsidized transportation companies, will not qualify for the fee waiver.
