## Abstract

This final rule temporarily permits compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, Occupant crash protection, according to the test procedures of that standard prior to the amendments made by the November 19, 2003, final rule.\1\ This document amends FMVSS No. 208 through the adoption of FMVSS 208a, which contains these "old" test procedures. This final rule permits the certification of motor vehicles under the "old" test procedures until August 31, 2004. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
