Abstract
FRA issues an interim statement of policy for the safety of railroad bridges. FRA establishes suggested criteria for railroads to use to ensure the structural integrity of bridges that carry railroad tracks. FRA will subsequently make the interim statement of policy part of the final rule amending 49 CFR part 213 (See 57 FR 54038, November 16, 1992). This final rule will reflect any changes that appear necessary following public comment on the interim statement of policy.
