## Abstract

In accord with President Clinton's Regulatory Reinvention Initiative, FRA is amending FRA's signal system reporting requirements to reduce signal system reporting burdens on the rail industry. FRA is also amending its regulations governing applications for approval of discontinuance or material modification of a signal system and is consolidating certain pneumatic valve cleaning and testing intervals to eliminate overlapping and unnecessary test schedules.
