## Abstract

This document rescinds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (Standard) No. 126, Truck-camper loading, and combines its provisions with 49 CFR 575.103, Truck-camper loading. This action is being taken because a review of this agency's standards and regulations pursuant to the President's regulatory reinvention initiative persuaded the agency that combining these two rules into one will make their respective requirements easier to understand and apply. This document also eliminates the requirement to assign a vehicle identification number to each slide-in camper.
