## Abstract

On June 18, 1996, FRA published a final rule amending the railroad accident reporting regulations. FRA now makes technical corrections to the final rule and responds to certain concerns raised in petitions for reconsideration of the final rule, which concerns were also raised in requests to stay the effective date of the final rule. In this document FRA issues amendments to the final rule addressing those concerns. FRA's response to the other concerns raised in petitions for reconsideration of the final rule will appear in the near future in a separate document published in the Federal Register.
