## Abstract

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is amending its regulations to add the Standardized Advanced NUHOMS<SUP>[reg]</SUP> System to the list of approved spent fuel storage casks. The Standardized Advanced NUHOMS<SUP>[reg]</SUP> System has improved shielding and the ability to withstand a higher seismic spectra than the Standardized NUHOMS<SUP>[reg]</SUP> System; otherwise, the cask designs are the same. This amendment allows the holders of power reactor operating licenses to store spent fuel in this approved cask system under a general license.
