Abstract

Pursuant to Part C of title III of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), the Department of Energy (DOE or the Department) promulgates a rule prescribing test procedures to rate the energy efficiency of commercial water heaters and hot water supply boilers. For these products and unfired hot water storage tanks, the rule also prescribes relevant definitions and recodifies existing energy conservation standards, so that they are located contiguous with the test procedures that DOE promulgates today.
