## Abstract

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is amending its regulations governing the medical use of byproduct material to extend the expiration date for training and experience requirements that will be superseded (Subpart J) for 1 year, from October 24, 2004, to October 24, 2005. The rulemaking is necessary to allow sufficient time for implementation of the forthcoming final rule that amends the training and experience requirements, including new requirements for recognition of specialty board certifications.
