Abstract
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is revising the regulations governing the transportation of radioactive material. The final rule conforms NRC regulations with those of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and codifies criteria for packages used to transport plutonium by air. This action is necessary to ensure that NRC regulations reflect accepted international standards and comply with current legislative requirements.
