This administrative order on consent for removal action is issued to the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company for removal action at the Western Minerals Denver Plant Site. Between 1967 and the 1980s, the Western Minerals Denver Plant received vermiculite ore from a mine in Libby, Montana. The vermiculite ore contains high levels of amphibole asbestos, a hazardous substance. Amphibole asbestos has been found in soils at the Western Minerals Denver Plant Site.
