CWA-06-2004-2360

VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's tank battery was a point source of discharge of pollutants, specifically oil field brine, to the receiving waters of a tributary to Polecat Creek, located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Township 17 North, Range 11 East, Creek County, Oklahoma. The discharge of brine was documented during a August 4, 2004, inspection.

RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should immediately cease the discharge of pollutants from the facility. The Order also requires the Respondent to remove the saltwater storage pit at the tank battery. Additionally, the Order recommends the Respondent: (1) install an automatically activated sump pump; (2) reconstruct the secondary containment; (3) repair or replace equipment that is leaking; and (4) install a current lease sign. A follow-up inspection scheduled 30 days after the effective date of the Order will determine the extent of compliance with the Order. Technical Contact: Casey Luckett Snyder 281-983-2112
