On August 3, 2004 the U.S. EPA issued an Administrative Order on Consent (Order) to Republic Engineered Products, Inc. under Section 3008(h) of the Solid Waste Disposal Act, commonly referred to as the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976 (RCRA). Republic owns and operates a steel making facility in Canton, Ohio. Under the Order, Republic must identify and define the nature and extent of releases of hazardous waste and hazardous constituents at or on the Facility, as well as the nature and extent of releases of hazardous waste and hazardous constituents from the Facility to off-site areas.
