Respondent is an offshore oil and gas extraction company operating in the Gulf of Mexico. Respondent had a leak in their methanol line in lease area Garden Banks, blocks 341 and 426, that resulted in a discharge of 623 gallons on July 31, 2004. The line is a small (1.5-2 inch) line on the seabed floor. Respondent reported no observable impacts. EPA is ordering them to fix the line and take steps to prevent such a discharge in the future.
