On September 30, 2004, Region 5 filed a combination Complaint/Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) simultaneously initiating and resolving an administrative penalty and compliance action against Ashland Inc., (Ashland) located at 1800 Glenrose Avenue, Lansing, Michigan. The CAFO resolves the company�s alleged violations regarding failure to comply with Interim Remedial Measures that were included in a previously filed Consent Order. The CAFO requires Ashland to pay a civil penalty of $650,000.
