Summary

Kenneth Park CWA-06-2005-1918 OKU000531 VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's oil field facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically produced water, to the receiving waters of a tributary of Quapaw Creek, located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 22 North, Range 11 East, Osage County, Oklahoma. A February 1, 2005 EPA inspection documented the discharge of brine from the facilitys tank battery to the tributary. RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should immediately cease the discharge of pollutants from the facility and take preventative measures to cease all discharges from the facility. Additionally, the Order requires the Respondent to: (1) Remove a syphon hose; (2) reconstruct the secondary containment; (3) install an automatically activated sump pump; and (4) neutralize brine impacted areas surrounding and down gradient of the facility. A follow-up inspection scheduled 30 days after the effective date of the Order will determine the extent of compliance with the Order. Technical Contact: Matt Rudolph 5-6434.
