EPA alleged that Morgan Olson Corporation violated recordkeeping, reporting, and testing requirements of its Title V operating permit at its Sturgis, Michigan facility. The alleged violations were discovered by EPA during a records review of information submitted to EPA through a Section 114 information request.
On January 16, 2009, EPA issued to Morgan Olson a Finding of Violation alleging violations of recordkeeping, reporting, and testing requirements of its Title V permit. EPA and Morgan Olson have had a number of discussions regarding the alleged violations and any actions the company has taken to ensure that it has achieved and will maintain compliance with its Title V permit. Morgan Olson has supplied EPA with sufficient information regarding their recordkeeping, reporting, and testing programs to give EPA assurance that the alleged violations have been corrected and compliance with the Title V permit conditions will be maintained in the future. Morgan Olson has agreed to pay a penalty of $64,512 for the Title V permit violations.
