The Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) and Region 5 entered into an Administrative Order on Consent to clean up past releases under RCRA Section 3008(h) on March 31, 2005. This is a streamlined corrective action agreement covering the Bailly Generating Station in Chesterton, Indiana, which is included in the RCRA Cleanup Baseline for 2008 under the GPRA. The facility is a coal-fired power plant, and is located adjacent to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. NIPSCO will investigate and correct past releases of cadmium, chromium, and lead.
