This is an Administrative Consent Order purusant to SDWA issued to the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (HDLNR) regarding their cesspool facilities. The DLNR operates 60 large capacity cesspools that were not closed by the April 5, 2005 deadline. The violation involves the continued use of these cesspools and allowing the discharge of raw sewaage directly into the ground. The Order requires the HDLNR to close all large capacity cesspools no later than May 31, 2009.
