U.S. EPA FILES AN ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLAINT AND COMPLIANCE ORDER AGAINST VISTEON'S MILAN PLASTIC PLANT
On September 26, 2005, Region 5 filed a Administrative Complaint and Compliance Order (Complaint) against Visteon?s Milan Plastic Plant located at 800 County Street, Milan, Michigan. The Complaint alleges that the company violated Federal and State of Michigan law by operating a hazardous waste storage facility without a permit. The Milan Plastic Plant failed to comply with all of the hazardous waste tank requirements. Specifically, EPA is alleging that the Milan Plastic Plant did not have an integrity assessment that had been certified by an independent, qualified, registered engineer for the portions of the system that exist within the manufacturing building. The Complaint proposes a civil penalty of $44,723.
