Summary

EPA inspected the facility in March 21, 2005 and perform point source dye testing inspection on April 18, 2005. Result of the inspection revealed that facility was discharging contaminated groundwater (high levels of turbidy and fecal coliforms) without an NPDES permit. The compliance order requested a compliance plan to bring the facility into compliance. In a period of approximately 45 days, Respondent built a wastewater treatment plant on-site and obtain NPDES permit coverage under the construction permit. Order was close-out on June 14, 2005. IT IS BEING REPORTED POLLUTANT REDUCTION IN GALLONS. HOWEVER, THE REAL POLLUTANT LOADINGS ARE THE REDUCTION OF TURBIDITY LEVELS FROM 180 NTU TO LESS THAN 10 NTU, AND REDUCTION OF FECAL COLIFORMS FROM 2,000 COLONIES/100 ML TO LESS THAN 200 COLONIES/100 ML. ALSO, A REDUCTION OF STORM WATER/GROUNDWATER DISCHARGES WAS ACHIEVED FROM 500 GPD TO LESS THAN 200 GPD.
