This is an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) issued to County of Hawaii Department of Environmental Management pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act. The violation involves the contnued operation of large capacity cesspools beyond the required April 5, 2005 closure date which allows the continued discharge of raw sewage directly into the ground. The Order directs the County to close the cesspools on an agreed upon schedule.
