Summary

GW Oil Company, LLC CWA-06-2006-1961 OKU000586 VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's oil field facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically produced water, to the receiving waters of a tributary of Coon Creek, located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 4, Township 26 North, Range 13 East, Washington County, Oklahoma. A July 7, 2005 EPA inspection documented the discharge of brine from the facility. RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should also take steps to cease all discharges of pollutants and to neutralize the brine contaminated area east of the facility by applying soil amendments to neutralize the sodium chloride. Additionally, the Order asks the Respondent to consider: (1) construct secondary containment; (2) install an automatically activated sump pump; (3) repair or replace equipment that is leaking; and (4) discard old junk equipment. A follow-up inspection will determine the extent of compliance with the Order. Technical Contact: Matt Rudolph 5-6434.
