U.S. EPA FILES A CONSENT AGREEMENT AND FINAL ORDER (CAFO) WITH JOYNER���S DIE CASTING & PLATING, INC.

On April 21, 2006, EPA Region 5 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) in the matter of Joyner���s Die Casting & Plating, Inc. (Joyner���s), Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.  The CAFO resolves noncompliance issues discovered during inspections conducted by EPA in October 2003 and July 2004 and by the Hennepin County Department of Environmental Services in September 2003.  Joyner���s agrees to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $50,000, and further commits to undertaking remediation of contaminated groundwater beneath its facility and to expend not less than $250,000 in clean-up costs over the first two years of remediation.
