Summary

Proof of claim in bankruptcy case of Tronox, Inc., as successor to Kerr-McGee. Kerr-McGee is a party to Region 10 Consent Decrees for two National Priorities List sites: Fremont National Forest (aka White King/Lucky Lass Mines) and Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp. (Soda Springs Plant). Other sites in other EPA regions are also part of this case. In the 2011 settlement, we received cash payments for the White King site, which we have deposited in a special account, while a trust was established for the Kerr-McGee site. The latter is recorded in ICIS as injunctive relief. In 2014, a further settlement with Anadarko provided $11,187,500 for the White King site. Of this amount, about $4 million went to special accounts to perform operation and maintenance, with the balance going to the Superfund Trust Fund. $88,823,285.14 was awarded for the Kerr-McGee site and those funds went to the Greenfield Environmental Multistate Trust, which is responsible for environmental actions at the Site. Those funds are being used for site investigations and potentially other work in the future.
