Karli Gas of Cambridge, MA failed to ensure proper operation of the cathodic protection system, failed to investigate and clean up a spill/overfill, failed to provide leak detection for piping, and failed to comply with financial responsibility requirements, as required by state and federal UST regulations. On 10/13/09, EPA issued a penalty order requiring owner to comply with MA UST regulations by conducting proper testing, maintain release detection on piping, and provide proof of financial assurance. The owner agreed to pay a penalty of $600.
