On January 4, 2010, EPA issued a Notice of Determination (NOD) based on a self-disclosure provided by the School District of Philadelphia (School District) pursuant to an agreement between the School District and EPA dated March 9, 2007 (and amended on January 22, 2008). The self-disclosure, which concerned the several schools within the School District, revealed violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Subchapter II, known as the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).
