## Summary

On November 30, 2010, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut entered a consent degree (CD) which requires six potentially responsible parties (PRPs) to make certain payments in settlement of their liability for response costs and natural resource damages at the Solvents Recovery Service of New England, Inc. Superfund Site in Southington, Connecticut. Under the CD, Anacomp, Inc. agrees to pay $300,000 in four installments over a year, and another PRP agrees to pay $78,000. The remaining four PRPs covered by the CD are settling their liability in return for nominal payments. EPA had previously agreed with other potentially responsible parties performing remedial design and remedial action at the Site that money from this settlement would go to a trust established by these PRPs to help fund the remedial design/remedial action. The settlements are all based on the settling PRPs’ ability to pay.
