On January 31, 2022, EPA concurred on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Action Memo approving a Time-Critical Removal Action (TCRA) at the TNT Area within the property footprint of the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot (FNOD) in Suffolk, Virginia. The TCRA will result in the excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated soil impacted with explosives (trinitrotoluene - TNT), lead, arsenic and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
