An Administrative Order was issued to Mr. Ed Deruyter on July 3, 2006, for violating Section 301 of the Clean Water Act. In 2005, the Environmental Protection Agency obtained sampling data from ground water wells located adjacent to the wastewater retention ponds and land application areas. The data consistently showed nitrate levels over 10 milligrams per liter (mg/L) which is the maximum contaminant level and revealed that this facility's animal wastes were not handled/disposed of properly, unsatisfactory to the permits requirements. This Order requires the facility to ensure the solid wastes and liquid effluent levels are maintained/disposed of properly.
