EPA Region 10 Settles Oil Spill Case with Kramer Marine, Inc. for $13,500. On Nov. 8, 2010, EPA Region 10 issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order settling claims against Kramer Marine, Inc., for violating Section 311(b)(3) of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. § 1321(b)(3), which prohibits the discharge of oil or hazardous substances in harmful quantities into waters of the United States or adjoining shorelines. The violation resulted from an 80-gallon spill of diesel fuel into Ellisport Bay in Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho on Aug. 12, 2009. Kramer Marine conducted a cleanup that was completed on Aug. 17, 2009, and has agreed to pay a penalty of $13,500 to settle this matter.
