Summary

On 3/5/2008, 20,896 gallons of 80% ethylene glycol was released from a damaged tank car which was part of a BNSF train. The product escaped and ran down the track embankment onto the frozen shoreline of the Mississippi River. The train was still under active shipping papers at this time so a 911 call satisfied the EPCRA reporting requirement.
