Range Resources Corporation is a Fort Worth, Texas based independent natural gas company engaged in the exploration, development, and acquisition of primarily natural gas. Range Production Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Range Resources Corp. operating in the State of Texas. Respondents owned or operated the natural gas facilities identified as the Butler Unit and the Teal Unit.
Violation: As a result of investigatory work performed by the U.S.EPA Region 6 has determined that an imminent and substantial endangerment to a public drinking water aquifer has occurred (or may occur) through methane contamination which is directly related to oil and gas production facilities.
Relief: Emergency Order issued to respondents pursuant to Section 1431 of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
