This case concerns allegations that Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc., ( BRP ) a Canadian importer and manufacturer of recreational vehicles and marine engines manufactured and offered for sale over 2,400 uncertified marine engines, 3,300 uncertified ATV's and 3,300 defeat devices --devices designed to bypass or impair the functioning of emission controls.
As part of the settlement, Bombardier paid a $690,000 civil penalty.
