On September 27, 2011, Region 1 issued Immediate Compliance Orders under Section 113(a)(3) of the Clean Air Act to six companies for failing to provide EPA with proper notification of a demolition or renovation operation as required by the Asbestos NESHAP. The companies included Acme Abatement Contractor, Inc. of Seekonk, Massachusetts for a demolition in Warwick, Rhode Island; Catamount Environmental, Inc. of Wilmington, Vermont for a renovation in Wilmington, Vermont; Op-Tech Environmental Services, Inc. of Syracuse, New York for a renovation in St. Albans, Vermont; Yankee Fiber Control, Inc. of East Providence, Rhode Island for a renovation in Newport, Rhode Island; LVI Services Inc. of New York, New York and Moran Environmental Recovery, LLC of Randolph, Massachusetts for sites in Providence, Rhode Island. The orders require each Respondent to immediately comply with the Asbestos NESHAP.
