An Administrative Consent Order has been issued to United Milwaukee Scrap (UMS or facility) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to resolve alleged violations of the Wisconsin State Implementation Program (SIP). The alleged violations were identified from an information request of December 14, 2010. Specifically, UMS has failed to apply for a permit to for their shredding operation allowing unregulated emissions of particulate matter. UMS has an obligation to apply for a permit, and under this Order, will apply for a construction permit consistent with the Wisconsin SIP.
