Summary

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Justice reached a settlement with the owners of Anchordoguy Ranch for violations of the Clean Water Act that destroyed more than 80 acres of rare vernal pool wetlands and streams in Tehama County, California. Ranch owners have agreed to pay $300,000 in penalties and $795,000 to The Wetlands Conservancy for preservation, enhancement, restoration, managing and monitoring vernal pool habitat and salmon and riparian habitats as natural open space in perpetuity in the Sacramento River watershed, including completing the priority project of acquiring and maintaining a conservation easement on a 515-acre parcel in Tehama County, California, known as ?Foor Ranch.
