On December 20, 2012, EPA Region 1 signed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (ÂCAFOÂ) to resolve an administrative penalty case against Accu-Care Supply, Inc. (ÂAccu-CareÂ), a Rhode Island Corporation. The CAFO requires Accu-Care to pay a $30,000 monetary penalty to resolve violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (ÂFIFRAÂ), as alleged in a complaint Region 1 filed on September 27, 2012. The FIFRA claims relate to Accu-Care producing nine separate pesticide products at the companyÂs East Providence, Rhode Island facility without the establishment being registered with EPA as a pesticide-producing establishment. The company has since come into compliance with the facility registration requirements and has agreed to a schedule for producing annual pesticide production reports for the facility. The settlement will encourage regulatory compliance and help to ensure that pesticides and pesticide devices are not produced and sold in a manner that poses unreasonable risk to human health or the environment.
